On June 9, 2026, early career researchers will gather at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) for a full day of reflection, creativity, and dialogue around the theme:
“Imagining Futures: How can Studies of Policies for Research & Innovation contribute to grand challenges?”
This interactive event invites participants to:
✨ Reflect on the contributions and epistemologies of researchers in Studies of Policies for Research & Innovation in addressing global challenges;
Discuss ethical and ecological issues in research practices, including the responsible use of generative AI;
Explore how to navigate early career journeys and imagine diverse futures in and beyond academia;
Co-create a Creative Reflection & Imagination Wall — a collective artifact of ideas, metaphors, and visions for the future.
With inspiring contributions from Cristina Chaminade, Asuncion Lera St.Clair, Bonno Pel, Laurens Hessels, Marta Rivera, Inge van der Weijden, Andy Stirling, Vicky Pellicer-Sifres, Raquel Luján Soto, Lidia García-García, PhD, and Oksana Udovyk.

Open to: 25 Eu-SPRI and 5 non–Eu-SPRI early career researchers
Fee: Free for researchers from Eu-SPRI member organisations (includes food & accommodation); €60 for others.
